Shampoos and Conditioners

Styling products

In general, people tend to wash their hair every two days and in some cases, even every day. On the other hand, others tend to wash their hair between 3-6 times a month. The cleansing of the hair does not have to be as frequent as one might suppose if the hair is kept well brushed and combed with clean instruments. It is injurious to the hair to have a continual supply of moisture applied to it. If the hair is properly dried then less damage usually results. The hair should be cleaned more often when it is thin and oily, rather than when the hair is coarse.

The frequency of shampooing is dictated by the condition of the scalp, the person’s habits, his occupation and the area in which he lives. There are no maximum or minimum values for the frequency of washing.

Each individual’s scalp is different; therefore, a guideline cannot be set.

The type of water used will also affect the degree of cleanliness of the scalp. Hard water is characterised by the formation of certain elements such as calcium salts and magnesium salts. These are not readily soluble in water. If the hair is washed with hard water, it is often difficult to style the hair. Washing hair in soft water will result in a different effect because it leaves fewer insoluble deposits on the hair. The complete removal of hard water deposits can be accomplished by adding a little lemon juice to the rinse water.

A shampoo is defined as a preparation of a surfactant and is designed to remove surface grease, dirt, and skin debris from the hair shaft and scalp without adversely affecting the health of the hair and scalp.

In summary, the primary function of a good shampoo is to gently clean the hair and scalp. Hair soil includes natural skin secretions, the skin debris, dirt accumulated from the environment, and the residue of hair grooming products.

There are many shampoos on the market and they are differentiated by their specialised uses for particular hair and scalp conditions as well as taking into account, age, sex, fragrance, tints, and colour.

Many brand name shampoos are available from supermarkets.

A good shampoo cleanses the scalp without drying out or burning. More people suffer from dry scalp because the shampoo is either too harsh for their scalps and the p.H. is too high or way too low, making it far too alkaline or acidic, which in turn causes scalp burns which result in a light peel. An acidic shampoo and conditioner are usually used after chemical treatments which have a very high pH. This brings down the pH levels in order to neutralise the chemical.

Treatments have been formulated to fill the gaps and enable the hair shaft and the cuticle to maintain the moisture.  Unless keratin is replaced by adding protein which helps to mend the cortex and the cuticle, the hair’s ability to retain moisture is almost impossible.

Hair Fantastique has the perfectly formulated range of Shampoos and Conditioners containing natural hydrolysed wheat proteins, keratin amino acids, Pro vitamin B5, soy proteins, polymers and cystein amino acids, vitamins, natural oils plus ceramide. The products have been formulated to not only help bond moisture, but also help to rebuild the internal structure of the hair.

A pH. Level of between 5.5 and 6.00 is recommended to be acceptable and safe for all ages.

Some products use the addition of an industrial detergent in order to make the product economical. This can result in serious consequences such as allergies, which can eventually result in an allergic dermatitis of the scalp.

Hair Fantastique’s Research Laboratories have selected the best that Nature has to offer in order to cater for your every need. Hair Fantastique’s hair care range is suited for all hair types and puts emphasis on optimum condition of both scalp and hair. With today’s styling, chemicals seem to play a great part in straightening and colouring our hair. Hot combs and braiding also play a large part in the styling of African type hair which tends to push the hair to the absolute limit. High pH. levels in these chemicals break down the hair bonds and in some cases, cause immeasurable damage to the hair and scalp.

Hair Fantastique have selected the best possible natural ingredients to rebuild the hair shaft and provide nutrition to the scalp as well as the hair.

Our products have not been tested on animals and no animal products are used in the formulations we have developed for you, the client. Only plant derivative ingredients are used. No chemicals or drugs are included in our products making them safe and gentle enough for babies, pregnant woman, and the most sensitive scalps.

We are world leaders in the field of natural treatment of all types of Alopecia, such as Alopecia Areata, Totalis and Universalis, Male and Female Pattern Baldness, Drug Induced Alopecia, as well as the re-growth of weakened hair caused from Trichotillamania.

Hair Fantastique’s Wonder hair Treatment Range is also recommended for the acceleration of hair growth when the hair is growing at a slow pace.

Hair Fantastique specialises in the treatment of eczema and hair care.

Let me explain: The selection of shampoos and conditioners play a big part in maintaining healthy looking hair and scalp.

It is therefore important to seek advice if you have problem hair and scalp. If one tends to just have a dry scalp “very fine powdery type residue on the scalp”, use a more natural based product. Sometimes, dry scalp can be a reaction to harsh detergent based products. This can also be caused by a chemical with a very high alkaline pH formula. There are shampoos that are very mild for the hair and can be used more frequently as is required by ones lifestyle and environment. TOP

Scalp disorders need special treatment according to the disorder.

Psoriasis and Seborrhoea is a tar responsive dermatitis which can be treated by applying Hair Fantastique’s Coal Tar Healing Salve ointment directly to the affected area. The salve not only helps to stop the itching of the affected area, it also contains ant-septic and anti-fungal properties such as  rosemary and camomile extracts which help to heal and control the eczema.

Hair Fantastique’s Anti-dandruff Shampoo is highly recommended for tar responsive dermatitis of the scalp. This is recommended as a once weekly treatment together with the Hair Fantastique Wonder Hair Treatment Hair Loss Program. It is interesting to note that dermatitis and hair loss are sometimes closely linked.

For scalp disorders which do not relate to hair loss.    Hair Fantastique’s Anti-dandruff shampoo should be used once a week and Hair Fantastique’s Gentle Shampoo and Hair Fantastique’s Silky Cream Rinse should be used for the in between washes during the week. As some types of dermatitis is diet and stress related I suggest you take the Hair Fantastique Vitamin Supplements to help with stress. Some people are allergic to coal tar or do not respond. A physician should be consulted.  Some psoriatics respond very well to treatment but others do not.

Seborrhoea is a functional disease of the sebaceous glands. It is characterised by an excessive secretion of sebum which collects on the skin in the form of an oily coating, crusts or scales.  A good diet of high vitamin B-complex and zinc supplements can be helpful. It is also advisable to maintain good clean hygiene habits by keeping the affected area clean. Avoiding stress could also help.

Choosing a hair conditioner is as important.  A gentle natural product should always take preference because of the added nutritional value to the hair.

Hair that is tinted or bleached needs far more protein replacement as this is partially removed during chemical processing. Plant proteins are far more advisable as animal protein tends to build up in the hair causing the hair to become brittle and eventually snap off.

Amino acids help Vitamin replacement such as Vitamin B-5, to seal the hair and retain the moisture for a length of time. Vitamin B3 is useful when there is a slight dermatitis.  TOP

Hair Fantastique has formulated a complete range of Shampoos and Conditioners to meet all your needs.

Hair Fantastique’s Gentle Shampoo and Silky Cream Rinse Conditioner is recommended for babies as well as adults with fine to normal hair.

Hair Fantastique has developed a Moisturising Shampoo and stay on conditioner with UV protectors with added plant proteins and vitamins plus essential oils and amino acids to help repair chemically damaged hair. This includes Relaxers Highlights, Permanents and Tinted hair. The Moisture Care Conditioner can be left in or applied to dry hair as a moisturiser for damaged hair. Just as our skin needs moisture so does our hair. With all the time one spends in the sun playing sport and swimming one needs the Hair Fantastique Moisturising Conditioner. It is the best protection to help minimise colour fade.

Hair Fantastique’s Protein Reinforcing Treatment is the perfect hot oil treatment for the restructuring of the hair shaft after chemical treatments.

With cuticle cementing Ceramides to lock in moisture, proteins and amino acids which are removed during chemical treatments. The hair bonds during relaxers are broken down by up to 78% when reforming the hair. This leaves the hair protein deficient and it needs to be reconstituted and treated in order for the hair to become smooth and snag free.

Washing your brush every time you wash your hair is a must. Never use another person’s brushes or combs. A good bristle brush with varying bristle lengths with the longer bristles in the centre provide a deeper penetration through the hair and scalp. Regular brushing of the hair will evenly distribute the natural oils through the hair, increasing its glossy appearance. More importantly it helps to stimulate the blood flow.

The method of drying ones hair is also important.  If too much pressure or friction is used it can be damaging to both the hair growth as well as the cuticle imbrications.

Avoid harsh heat or close contact of the hair with the hair dryer, hot brushes, hot combs, and heated rollers. The high temperature of the above could damage and frizzle the hair. TOP

Hair Fantastique’s Styling products are unique as they contain many beneficial properties to nourish ones hair while giving the perfect style.
